Viewsat Weather Forecaster
For most people, their Viewsat receivers have become door stops, thrown in their closets and collecting dust. A solution to revive your Viewsat FTA Receivers has arrived.
This device is as close to a viewsat n3 fix as you can currently get. The viewsat weather forecaster is available for the viewsat ultra, viewsat ultra lite, viewsat 9000 hd and the viewsat max hd.
If you’ve got one of those receivers its time to take them out of the closet and get your hands on the viewsat weather forecaster. The Viewsat weather forecaster is a serial to Ethernet adapter that comes with its own 5 Volt power adapter and RS-232 cable.
Installation of the device is relatively simple assuming your receiver is already hooked up to TV and satellite dish and ready to go.
1. Flash receiver via USB with your specific receiver software.
2. Remove WF from box, attach serial cable to serial side of main body, then connect the other side to serial on receiver.
3. Connect your WF to internet via Ethernet RJ45 cable.
4. Attach Power cable to main body and then plug into outlet.
5. Click menu on receiver remote.
6. For static IP:
Go to installation => Serial Setup => Network Setup => Network setting => put your IP
For non-static IP
Go to installation => Serial Setup => Network Setup => Network S/W upgrade => Start Upgrade. Software for WF is upgraded automatically.
Once upgrade is done, exit from menu system, it is now functional!
If you don’t have your hands on a viewsat weather forecaster yet, you should as soon as you can. Listed below are some available options if you’re interested in obtaining one.

Hi Mike, to get your viewsat back up and running you have to get the weather forecaster which is designed for Viewsat compatibility. Enjoy!

Satellite TV users will definitely grow in the following years and also satellite internet users.

Will this work for the Viewsat Extreme????
Or do I finally have to upgrade to get back on air?
I tried emailing the official Viewsat Weather Forecaster website, but have yet to receive a response.
Thank you

Is the viewsat weather forcaster work with BEV?
September 4th, 2010 on 11:33 am
If it doesn’t already work with BEV, it will in the near future as the WF is working on it. Sorry I couldn’t be of any more help. Keep Visiting for updates!

No the Weather forecaster doesn’t work with your model of Viewsat receiver. Check out the list in the blog post – this will tell you which ones it works with.
