Acheiving Best Quality for your “Buck”
by FTA Online on Jan.12, 2009, under FTA INSTALLATION
If you take a look at all the satellite equipment that is being sold on the internet, no wonder one could simply get caught by buying the cheap stuff. Follow these simple steps in order to get the best signal you can get with your equipment.
1. Don’t cheap out on connectors.
– You loose the most quality off of connections, make sure that you use snap and seal connectors. Especially if your connections are exposed to the elements.
2. Buy good RG6 Cable.
– Don’t settle for the cheap stuff, get it done right the first time. Make sure to purchase RG6 cable with good shielding. (typically aluminum foil/95% copper braid)
3. Square off your Mast.
– Make sure your mast is at a real 90 degree angle. dont think this isn’t important. It might mean the difference between 55%-60% and 75%-90% quality.
Follow these three steps and you will have a solid installation and a happy customer every time!!!
